BSNL 3G: How To Activate BSNL 3G Service Full Details

Hello mates, If the BSNL 3g services are available in your area? than common 
just activate BSNL 3g in your mobile by following these steps. You will get the settings shortly. Unlike other countries, Most of the India is still waiting for 3G mobile services to be launched. However, BSNL and MTNL, State RUN telecom companies already got 3G license but still not available throughout, however I happen to be in one of the city where BSNL 3G is available.
So not sure when exactly whole India will enjoy 3G.
Steps To Activating BSNL 3G:
Hear the Activating process is quite easy, all you need is to buy 3G SIM of costs Rs. 300 with 7 days validity and no talktime, then you are required to recharge it with one of the data recharge( they provide that ). You can start with Rs. 400 recharge which give you 30 days validity and 1 GB of data usage.
Settings / Configuration for BSNL 3G on Mobile:
It is very easy, all the configuration settings are similar to GPRS, Follow the simple steps:
- Make sure your PHONE is set to work on 3G network ie. in my phone, to use 3G network, I had to select “WCDMA” in my network mode settings. You should see “3G” written somewhere on your phone screen if it is connected to 3G network.
- Now depending upon the phone, goto Connection settings, there create new connection profile and now you are only required to specify APN and you are done.
APN stands for “ACCESS POINT NAME” . You are required to specify following APN for BSNL 3G settings:gprsnorth3g.bsnlmobile.in
- Apart of that, leave every thing default or blank and you are done. Now you should be able to use 3G on your phone.

SEND “MOBILE BRAND AND MODEL” TO 58355 [TOLL FREE]For Example -
NOKIA N73 TO 58355

I understood your intension but you know what,
these online top up system in BSNL is have some problems…, me too had face this problem very earlier.
Better to go and contact nearest BSNL office if possible, even customercare guys are also unfit for this job.

I have samsung omnia lite GT-B7300 and I have 3g activated bsnl SIM but I am unable to configure it for 3g use. Can anybody please help. I have tried 58355 but I got reply that ’sorry we don’t setting for ur handset”. Now I am trying for the manual setting.
Basically this mobile is window based and current version of window is 6.5 Pro.
i bought 3g sim yesterday. im using it with Macromax USB modem. but its not giving me 3g speed. wat to do and how to configure?

May i know your 3g Sim belongs to which network…?
and one more thing is the speed will depends on the network provider, and bit on the modem.
go to network settings and welect WCDMA only.
actually by default network settings is gsm+WCDMA.
So it goes for gprs first then call 3G.
So, you may be getting gprs speed.
Try this and let me know if problem is there.

and also getting good speed at surfing.
but this way some time it use HSPA and some time 3G.
Some time i see H icon at data network some time 3G icon.
