Just follow the steps to Disable WordPress AutoSave:
1. Navigate to your wp-admin directory and copy the files post.php, page.php, page-new.php and post-new.php to your desktop.
2. Open each one after another, and find the line
wp_enqueue_script ( ‘ autosave ‘ )
3. Now just add // to the beginning of the line and then save each file (the new line should look as follows):
// wp_enqueue_script ( ‘autosave ‘ )
4. Just upload all files again to the same place that’s it
Auto-save feature in WordPress should now be disabled, you can continue to edit without and automatic save your changes and saved automatically covered by the risk of losing your job interrupt and web pages.

As you said, this AutoSave option is taking much memory and this will cause some problem at the time of we are taking the database backups and re inserts, so better to avoid this AutoSave in wordpress.
