  1. Should i open an account with citibank?
i want to have a citi credit card, but i’m wondering if it will make a difference whether or not i have a checking account with them as well.

what kinds of benefits do you get as a cardmember of citi bank if you also have a checking account with them?

the other thing about that is that citibank does not have a branch near my home, will that be a problem? there are atms near but nowadays what does a branch actually do to serve the customer? everything is so online

To be precise my friend, Citibank is a bit hassle you know why…?

Actually they have very less BRANCHES…., and ATM’s and more over they are not launch any of their branches even in some of famous cities too.

But one thing i would like to tell you is, its the internationally famous bank but it’s not so that much in India, and depends upon our requirements you can…! and the services are provided by rest of branches just like ICICI, and HDFC would fulfill our requirements as well, and compared with CityBank these are having much ATM’s and Branches.

Am not disrespecting this CityBank, but not user friendly in this time.

        I disagree!

I have used SBI, Citibank and HDFC.
Citibank has provided hassle free and 100% satisfaction.

SBI is good, though not best. The only good thing is its large network of ATMs. But in online banking, it sucks!

HDFC. Too much security is all what I can about HDFC. And for every new facility, they call you to a branch. Also, their service is a pain in the neck. Once, I was not allowed access to ATM/NetBanking/TPT for more than a month. They had blocked everything. While other banks require you to have only 1 IPIN, these fellows ask you for IPIN and then your date of birth, and then 5 questions (out of which 2 are not set by you!!!).

CITIBANK. Actually, ever since I am using Citibank, I have never gone to any of their branches. No doubt, they have only 1 branch in Chennai, but no one ever needs to go there. Everything’s accessible over the phone. And that too 24*7. Their internet banking is awesome. And their website is simple, straight, focused, and ultrafast. Making transactions are a breeze. Also, it is the most widely accepted bank when it comes to online shopping. And yes, they have never levied any service charges unlike HDFC\SBI where you have to pay 5 rupees per transaction!

Actually, I have a salary a/c in HDFC. But because of their crap service, I transfer all my money to my Citibank and then enjoy a wonderful banking experience.

        Thumbs up to Citibank!

          yeap Nishant,

Citibank services are awesome, me too agree but they are not fulfilling the ATM’s issue.
and that to they have no enough branches, around the country.

They have branches only in Top cities, what about normal.
