I Got this from Macrumors which is the trustworthy source of Apple news, are published regarding iTunes 9.1 which is to be released on April 3rd, in fact the day on which Apple iPad will be launched in US.  I am sure that this update is in order to support to ipad, i have given some new features those will come with upcoming iTune 9.1.

Features in iTunes 9.0:

  • iTunes Source list will be updated with a broader “Books” section in place of “Audiobooks”
  • Enhancements to the Genius Mixes feature
  • Auto-bit-rate converter for all devices such as Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch, ipad companies, etc.

Finally, iTunes 9.1 is claimed to offer several changes to the device support, including summary panels set and the ability to automatically convert songs to 128 Kbps AAC format to synchronize the devices. This feature is currently only available for the iPod shuffle, apparently extend to all devices and allow users to fit more audio files on their devices, while the highest quality original files remain intact in iTunes
