We know that wordpress 2.8.4 has been released already, in fact upto now there is a problem with the lower versions a vulnerability was discovered: a specially crafted URL could be requested that would allow an attacker to bypass a security check to verify a user requested a password reset. As a result, the first account without a key in the database (usually the admin account) would have its password reset and a new password would be emailed to the account owner. This doesn’t allow remote access, but it is very annoying.

wordPress 2.8.4 released with major security fix, so i recommended to upgrade it. When we trying to upgrade to 2.8.4, one should need to enter their FTP, details, most of us are saying that there is an security problem for entering the ftp details. I think this is not an issue do like this,
- First login to your domain control pannel
- change the ftp password (it may take just 20 sec)
- Now password changed
- You now can give your FTP details to upgrade the 2.8.4
- After upgrade done ! change to your original password
- You done !
